PUPPIES FROM LITTER 2011

WE HAD MATED OUR OWN JESS (MCGWYN ROSEHUNTER) TO ROB (BUCCLEUCH VICTORY) AND ARE REALLY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT SHE HAD 8 LIVER AND WHITE PUPPIES ON THE 15TH 0CTOBER 2011 -  3 MALES AND 5 FEMALES.

Jess had a very straight forward whelp and all the puppies were born fine and have continued to grow and become strong and healthy. We had pre bookings for 7 of the puppies and the remaining female is now sold also.  The little puppies are going to be going to some lovely homes and we are enjoying meeting the clients each weekend now as they come and see the puppies develop.

4th December 2011 .... It is only another week and the puppies will be away from us here, its quite sad really as they have been an absolute pleasure and such fun to have looked after.  We have been out and about this week, they have had a trip in the dog box, been out twice a day around our fields and have grown in confidence. Jess their Mum keeps an eye on them as she passes which is quite a touching sight. I have already started them feeding twice per day on their own and the other two meals they feed together. This week I will get them out and about on their own a little and get them retrieving a knotted sock or tennis ball if they can hold one all ways to prepare them for being on thier own in their new homes in a few days. Hopefully if the weather stays fair I will be able to get some more pictures of them before they leave us.

24th November 2011 .... The puppies are approaching 6 weeks old and we had a lovely couple of days with clients and friends coming over giving the puppies plenty of cuddles and attention. Our enclosed secure yard was the ideal place to get to know the pups and be dry.  The weather hadnt been kind enough to go onto the grass earlier this week as we had really damp foggy days and really cold wet grass however we are now drier underfoot and lots of sunshine and so they have been out and about learning to follow to the call and whistle.  They absolutely loved it  and all tackled this first experience with great confidence. Their outside run area will not be half as much fun to them now. I will be posting pictures over the next few days of their trips out.

19th November 2011 ..... the puppies are now 5 weeks old.  They have grown in size and confidence and have now started to get outside into their play pen.  This is positioned near to our door and they get interaction from all who pass and visit. They are eating their CSJ puppy food with enthusiasm and hopefully soon they will be tackling the kibble dry not soaked. Their mum still checks them out but from today she wont be left with them in the whelp area as she has done her hard work and deserves a rest now. They are still quite happy in their whelp box on their own and they get snuggled into their bedding under a nice heat lamp.  They have had their wormer twice already and have had their nails clipped a few times to make it comfortable for mum whilst they were suckling.

We have had the clients who are purchasing the little pups over at different times to see and get a little hands on with them.  This helps the socialising process for the pups and also its a good chance to get a feel as to what the personalities of each pup are developing into.

Hopefully the weather will be a littler fairer and we can get the pups out onto our lawn so that they can experience grasses, twigs, and a little cover. This is a great time to encourage them to follow and also to come running when called. Our aim is that as they leave here at eight weeks they will come running up and into us when we whistle and call which then helps the client as they get them home.
